Three fine categories (Art. 99)

The AI Act has three fine tiers. Category 1: prohibited AI practices (Art. 5): up to 35 million euros or 7% global annual turnover. Category 2: violation of high-risk obligations: up to 15 million euros or 3% turnover. Category 3: incorrect or misleading information to authorities: up to 7.5 million euros or 1.5% turnover. The fine is always the higher of the two amounts.
