What is conformity assessment?

Developing a high-risk AI system is one thing — but how do you prove it actually meets all the AI Act requirements? You do this through a conformity assessment (Art. 43). This is a formal process where you demonstrate that your system meets the requirements of Chapter III, Section 2 (Art. 8-15), including risk management, data quality, transparency, and human oversight.
